It can be really fabulous to hear how professionals describe our venue and we couldn’t help but want to share the photographer, Graeme Brown’s articulate and eloquent description of our rooms. Graeme has shot many weddings in the College so really appreciates just how special the spaces can be for a truly special wedding.
We invite you to read his thoughts and view some examples of his beautiful photography. http://www.graemebrown.co.uk/wedding-photography-at-rcpe-royal-college-of-physicians-edinburgh/
As an International medical college here at The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh we like to continuously update and modernise our communications to reach our Fellows and Members around the world.
Our excellent AV technician Davie has spent the last year installing new and much improved web streaming technology, allowing lectures and meetings to be live streamed to destinations across the UK and around the world. We can stream out flash content, which can be viewed by any .html browser and/or Quicktime at the same time. Although Davie and the team have been live streaming for the last 7 years, the delivery is faster and of a better quality with the results being really well received by our audiences.
So you can hold a conference in Edinburgh but deliver to an audience just about anywhere.
Davie and his colleagues would be delighted to discuss web streaming or any of the audio visual services that we offer to our clients when hiring our venues, so please get in touch with the team at email@example.com or visit the AV page to find out more.
Wishing all our clients, partners, friends and colleagues a very warm, happy and successful 2013.
After a restful holiday we are looking forward welcoming guests to the College throughout the year. Planning an event or exploring ideas, please get in touch with our Events team who will be delighted to show you round the facilities and help you with your plans. firstname.lastname@example.org

The College was positively buzzing with 1,003 visitors exploring our rooms at Doors Open Days on Sunday. Many fascinating conversations taking place as people wandered through the rooms, expressing surprise and delight at some of our “hidden treasures”, from paintings, hints of medical symbolism and original Robert Adam features.
Thank you to all who came through the doors, it was a special day.
Curious to find out what is behind our elegant facade? Come and explore the historic buildings of The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh for Doors Open Day and you might be rather surprised by the spaces, archticture and medical symbolism that you find. Enter at 9 Queen Street through the building design by Thomas Hamilton and then wander through our Victorian and Georgian Rooms, some of which were designed by the renowned Robert Adam in the 1770′s.
Doors Open Day is a celebration of Edinburgh’s architecture, culture and heritage and has been organised by the Cockburn Association (Edinburgh’s Civic Trust) since 1991. Download the full brochure and take the opportunity to explore many hidden treasures http://www.cockburnassociation.org.uk/upload/File/Edinburgh%20DOD%202012%20Brochure.pdf
We are venue number 52 and will be open from 11am until 4pm on Sunday 23rd September.
Traditionally while Edinburgh is full to the brim and partying at the Festival here at The Royal College of Physicians we appear a little quieter. However behind the scenes it is hectic maintaining, upgrading and modernising our facilities while retaining our Georgian heritage.
The audio visual team have been developing the College webstreaming service and without loading you with technical jargon, this will allow wider access to webstreamed lectures remotely from MACs, tablets and other mobile devices. A positive enhancement in supporting clients to deliver the requirements of modern conferencing.
Our buildings officer has not been sitting down either, supervising a wide range of annual maintenance tasks including targeting the power hose at our elegant Queen Street doorways and sprucing up the little gem of a Physic Garden.
We now look forward to the busy autumn ahead welcoming clients, guests and friends back through our doors. If you would like to view our facilities please contact our events team on 0131 225 7324 or firstname.lastname@example.org
